Teaching Scripture to Kids Through Songs

Bible songs are a great learning tool for children of any age to memorize verses from the Bible. For the younger children, songs are catchy, and fun to participate in.

When your kids are young, that is the best time for you to help them learn different bible songs. Your kids can learn old favorites from many different CD’s available today.

There are many new singers and songwriters of this time that write lyrics to help children remember different parts of Scripture. God’s word is easily taught to children through verses and music. Sing the Scripture by Jim Swanson is a series that I can recommend.

Little ones memorize Scripture in a fun and easy way, by the help of his unique songs. Your children will be singing the Bible verses in song soon.

When he taught third grade in a Christian school, Jim started writing Bible verses to music. He wanted to find a way to help children learn their Bible verses. Music was the right solution. They could pick it up and remember it much more quickly, when he sang the memory verse to them.

There were also methods for him to meditate based on Bible passages. He replayed the words and the song over and over in his mind. The Bible verses were then recalled in many life situations.

A Scripture song can be created by parents and teachers pretty easily. Pick a memory verse and teach it to a group of children. Align the words with familiar tunes. Before you know it, you will all be singing the songs together.

Bible songs are also a great way for elderly people to remember Scripture. It is much easier to memorize Bible verses, and recall them later, for a young person than for an older person.

Music can be an excellent learning tool and can make things easier to remember.
